Liverpool are in talks to sign a “unique” Premier League player who is enjoying an impressive season, according to a new transfer update.

For all the talk of midfield and central defensive reinforcements at Anfield, a new left-back also needs to be high up on the agenda soon.

Andy Robertson has had a tricky start to the season, and at 30 years of age, there are some signs of him no longer having the energy levels he once did.

Meanwhile, Kostas Tsimikas isn’t at the level to be a Liverpool starter every week, even though the Greek deserves praise for some good performances in recent weeks.

According to a fresh claim from Anfield Watch, the Reds are in talks with Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkves over a move to the club next summer. He is believed to be their “top target” in that position.

Our thoughts on Liverpool signing Kerkez in 2025…

Kerkez looks like a great choice to come in as Robertson’s long-term replacement, having already become a reliable Premier League performer at the age of just 21.

He bagged two assists in the recent 2-1 win at home to Manchester City, which will immediately endear him to Liverpool supporters, while former teammate Mat Ryan has said of him:

“Milos is a great boy. A crazy dude, in a good way. He is always positive and smiling. Hopefully he can develop even further in England and become even more mature. He is aggressive, powerful and has so many qualities. A unique skill set. Bournemouth is going to get stronger because of him. Milos still has a great career ahead of him.”

Kerkez possesses both defensive nous and attacking quality, much like Robertson, with an average of 2.4 clearances and 1.4 tackles per game coming his way in the league so far this season.

The fact that he is so young makes signing him especially important for Liverpool, meaning the 21-cap Hungary international could potentially come in as a key starter for many years to come.

Bournemouth will understandably be desperate to keep hold of an influential figure, but the lure of a move to Anfield is great for so many players, and the hope is that Kerkez sees it as his perfect next destination.
