Inter Miami are believed to be interested in signing Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah, according to a concerning new transfer update.
Barely a day can go by without Salah’s future being mentioned, with his contract expiring in 2025 and no sign of an extension happening yet.
Speaking after last weekend’s 3-2 win away to Southampton in the Premier League, the 32-year-old opened up about the situation, saying no new deal has been offered to him yet.
“Well, we are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in,” Salah told reporters.
“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this but in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.”
Unsurprisingly, other clubs are eyeing a move for Salah, and according to Caught Offside, MLS side Inter Miami are in the race to sign him.
They are showing a “strong interest” in the Egyptian King and are “stepping up their pursuit”, as they look to team him up with all-time great Lionel Messi, as well as former Liverpool star Luis Suarez.
Our thoughts on Salah moving to the MLS…
The lure of playing with Messi and Suarez could appeal to Salah, but it would be such a waste to see him drop down a big level in quality while still at the peak of his powers.
Liverpool should be dreading the idea of the forward moving on and not signing a contract extension, with Gary Neville lauding him in the past, following a goal against Manchester City in 2022/23:
“This is special. Salah has just reminded us what world-class looks like. The first bit is mesmerising – the turn and strength. The old saying ‘form is temporary, class is permanent’ certainly feels right to describe Salah at this moment.”
Hopefully, an agreement is reached with Liverpool sooner rather than later, allowing supporters to breathe a huge sigh of relief, and ensuring one of the best players in the club’s history stays put for several more years.
