Liverpool are reportedly battling several clubs for the signing of a “spectacular” young attacking player with a big future in the game.

The Reds will have the opportunity to bring in new faces next month once the January transfer window opens, but it remains to be seen if any business will be done.

Arne Slot has been blessed with inheriting a superb array of attacking talent, from Mohamed Salah to Luis Diaz, but it looks as though another signing is being looked at in the final third.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are among the teams keen on signing Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz, who could be available for £66m.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund are all mentioned as potential suitors, so there is a real battle to acquire his signature.

The report adds that “scouts from Premier League clubs in attendance to watch him in recent games against AC Milan and Lecce”, with the 19-year-old a wanted man.

Our thoughts on Liverpool signing Yildiz…

Yildiz is a player with a huge amount of promise, having already become an important squad player for Juve, registering 12 goal contributions (eight goals and four assists) in 52 appearances for the Serie A giants.

He has even been lauded by club legend Alessandro Del Piero, who has said of him: “Very good with the first touch and aiming at the opponent. He has a very precise and strong shot, he puts it where no one else can reach. A spectacular goal for how he thought it. Congratulations. He took the responsibility of wearing the number 10 shirt, he should be supported and waited for. He has qualities and he is showing what he should show off.”

Primarily a left-sided attacking player, Yildiz could be considered a long-term option out wide, but his versatility also allows him to shine in a central role. For that reason, he could provide more competition for the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Harvey Elliott.

The Turk is a special talent who could achieve so much in the game over the next decade or so, meaning Liverpool should consider him a brilliant option to bring in.
