Liverpool striker Jayden Danns has a “dozen clubs” who are interested in signing him on loan in the January transfer window, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.

The 18-year-old scored his first goal of the season against Accrington Stanley last weekend, netting for the third time in seven Reds appearances.

It could make sense for Liverpool to allow Danns to leave temporarily this month, however, in order to afford him more regular football.

Speaking to The Wrexham Insider, Bailey discussed the level of interest in the attacker, with Wrexham among those in the mix to snap him up:

“Wrexham have been waiting in this window, they no good players are becoming available as the top clubs assess playing time and options.

“Liverpool have a host of talent and up to half a dozen of their prospects are wanted, and one of the main names is Jayden Danns.

“I am told Danns has nearly a dozen clubs keen on him, so it is a matter of him and Liverpool deciding if he should go, and then choosing the right move for him but I understand the player is keen to get more minutes under his belt in the next six months.”

Our thoughts on Liverpool selling Danns this month…

Danns looks like a special talent, possessing both a natural confidence and also ruthlessness in front of goal, and the hope is that he has a big career ahead of him.

Whether or not that’s at Liverpool remains to be seen, but sending him out in January feels best for his development, earning key minutes and becoming a more polished all-round footballer at a lower-ranked Football League club.

Danns would hopefully flourish wherever he goes, before returning to Anfield in the summer, with Arne Slot speaking highly of him after the Accrington game, saying:

“What that potential is, that probably needs some time to find out if he in the end will be a starter for us. But that he will have a very good career because of his mentality, I’m very sure of.”

Predicting the career trajectory is always hard to predict, but the early signs with Danns are only promising, and a loan move this month would be the correct call.
