Liverpool and Jayden Danns will put pen to paper on a contract extension that will secure the exciting young forward’s future with the Reds.
While Deadline Day will be quiet for Liverpool in terms of new signings, the club is busy completing a number of loan moves for younger players and Danns is one of them.
While he has caught the eye of supporters and seems to be a very exciting forward, what he needs is game time which he won’t get when he has to compete with the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez at striker.
Sunderland are now expecting Danns for a medical, as per Football Insider, before his loan move will be completed today. The striker has scored three goals already for the first team not to mention he secured a Carabao Cup winners’ medal for his cameo in the final against Chelsea last season.
He also became Liverpool’s youngest player in history to be named in the starting lineup of a Champions League game when he started against PSV Eindhoven last week.
Jayden Danns to join Sunderland on loan. It’s a good move for both sides and #SAFC are incredible with young players.
Bags of quality and his movement is second to none. #LFC #LiverpoolFC

Liverpool hope loan move will provide Danns with a platform for progress
James Pearce has confirmed for the Athletic that Danns will sign a new long-term deal as a sign of faith from the club before he takes the big step to go on loan for the rest of the season.
While some players see loan moves as regression, it’s huge for a young player to get the exposure and game time needed to develop in the senior game. Modern football moves fast and the likes of Danns, no matter how talented, can be left behind if they don’t play enough.
Virgil van Dijk sent a warning of sorts to Danns and his fellow young teammates after the PSV defeat.
The Dutchman said: “It was a big night for all of them and they should really take it in, enjoy it, see it as a start and really use it in every way.
“In my career, I’ve seen players who make their debuts after coming through the ranks and then disappear. Even learning from being around the first team is massive and you should soak it all in and don’t get carried away.”
He added: “They have to keep improving, keep working; staying humble is a very important thing but we have a great culture and I’m definitely one of the guys to make sure they keep doing that.”
Liverpool fans will be hoping to see Danns succeed in his time in the Championship because it won’t be that long before the 19-year-old will be back ion the Liverpool fold for pre-season.
