Two Championship clubs are interested in signing Liverpool striker Jayden Danns before the end of the January transfer window, according to a fresh report.
The 19-year-old is one of the most exciting academy products to emerge in recent years, catching the eye with his ability in the attacking third.
Danns has scored three goals in nine appearances for Liverpool, netting in the recent FA Cup third round victory over Accrington Stanley, and he has a big future in the game.
Playing time is hard to come by under Arne Slot currently, however, which is understandable, given the attacking riches at the head coach’s disposal.
A loan move could, therefore, make complete sense for Danns before the current window reaches its conclusion, and now an exit rumour has emerged.
According to Football Insider, Championship duo Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing the teenage striker before deadline day reaches its conclusion.
Both clubs are looking to bolster their options as they push for promotion to the Premier League this season, with the Liverpool youngster emerging as a strong choice.
Ideal loan options for Danns
This is exactly what Danns should be looking for in the next day or two, allowing him to mature as a player and enjoy regular football in a tough league.
He has already shown what a talented young footballer he is, with former Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton speaking highly of him, saying:
“Jayden Danns loves a goal and getting in those positions. That was brilliant from start to finish. He expected the rebound and he finished it well first time. You can see how much it means to him – a great moment for the young lad.”
While Danns staying put at Liverpool would be no bad thing, it is hard to see how he is going to feature prominently in the coming months, unless the Reds are suddenly hit with a string of injuries in attack.
A loan move to Sunderland or Blackburn would be perfect, especially as both sides have a huge amount to play for until May, as they look to at least finish in the Championship playoff places.
