The last, but by absolutely no means least, turkey of 2012. LFC are still playing the price of Damien Comolli’s transfer negotiating skills – or lack of them. Comolli was the guy who agreed and then authorised inflated prices for every single one of Kenny Dalglish’s signings, and effectively was the reason why Brendan Rodgers as new manager had so little room for manoeuvre in the summer. Comolli departed before Kenny did, but without anything like the accountability to the fans that he should have faced for the decisions he approved.
