2012 has been a bad year for LFC behind the scenes – a disastrous transfer deadline in August, a grovelling apology to Fulham over a Clint Dempsey deal that didn’t even happen and the failure to effectively negotiate a contract with an 18 year old winger. And that’s before we start on the rights and wrongs of Being: Liverpool and how the management board came out of that. I’m afraid the man at the top has to carry the can. LFC must be able to do better than Ian Ayre.
