The agent of a “beautiful” attacking player wants his side client to potentially move to Liverpool in the near future, among other clubs, according to his agent.

The Reds will be on the lookout for new signings in January and next summer, with the likes of Arne Slot and Richard Hughes always aiming to improve the squad.

In attack, Liverpool have struggled to fire on all cylinders so far this season, with even the legendary Mohamed Salah showing signs of his age.

Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo hasn’t hit top gear, while new big-money signings Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak are still getting used to life at Liverpool.

Speaking to De Morgen [via Sport Witness], Malick Fofana’s agent, Frederico Pena, wants the Lyon winger to join a bigger club, name-checking the Reds as a possible option in a boost for Slot:

“This is the season in which Fofana wants to show himself to the world, especially at the World Cup. If he succeeds, he can move from Lyon to a top 10 club. At Roc Nation, we strongly believe in him. Liverpool, Bayern, Man City, those are the clubs where he belongs.”

Could Fofana be Salah’s eventual replacement at Liverpool?

Fofana is a young player with so much long-term potential, already scoring 17 goals in 71 appearances for Lyon by the age of just 20 years of age.

He is also a three-cap and one-goal international for Belgium, with scout Jacek Kulig calling him a “beautiful” player and international colleague Kevin De Bruyne comparing him to former Manchester City teammate Jeremy Doku:

“Is Malick similar in style to Doku? Yes, they are both wingers, fairly small, fast,” he said. “Of course, Jeremy has been with us for five or six years. He also plays for Manchester City, which, with all due respect, is a level above Lyon. Malick is younger and still developing.”

Fofana could join Liverpool as an excellent squad option, and while his preferred role is on the left wing, potentially stunting Rio Ngumoha’s growth, he is also capable of shining on the right-hand side, making him a possible contender to be Salah’s eventual replacement, once the Reds hero moves on.
