An insider claims that Ajax have already made contact with Arne Slot to become their new manager amid widespread speculation over the Dutchman’s future with Liverpool FC.
The last week has been critical in the immediate future of the club, with tonight’s result against Galatasaray set to define the narrative moving forward.
Liverpool carry a 1-0 deficit from the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie with the Turkish outfit, but failure tonight at Anfield will bring even more scrutiny to Slot.
The manager is not the only senior Liverpool staff member linked with an exit, with claims from Saudi Arabia reporting that sporting director Richard Hughes has agreed a deal to work for Al-Hilal.
Now, an insider in Holland are sharing that Slot is the subject of interest from Ajax, with a team of journalists on X reporting: “Ajax have already made official contact with Arne Slot to become their new boss.”

FSG need to finally take action on Slot and Liverpool’s future
There is an overwhelming sense that the time for Liverpool and Slot to part ways has arrived. There is a case to be made that this should have happened earlier, possibly as far back as November 2025, but it’s certainly time now.
Reports in recent weeks have suggested that, if Slot fails to coach Liverpool to a finish within the Premier League’s five Champions League qualifying spots, he will likely not be the head coach next season.
At the end of February, Fabrizio Romano reported that Slot will have his role at the club reviewed at the end of the season, saying: “For Arne Slot the situation is quite clear. Being in the Champions League next season will be absolutely crucial for him. If Liverpool will not be in the Champions League next season I think this could bring them into an important review in the summer.
This rumour of Ajax interested in Arne Slot should he not continue with LFC may not be so far fetched. “At the moment they’ve always been protecting Slot, even in difficult moments when the situation was really complicated, always showing the trust, but at the end of the season there will be an internal review and we will see.”
Liverpool have won 14, drawn 7 and lost 9 in the Premier League this season, with their title defence declared insufficient just three months into the campaign.
