The 2025 summer transfer window saw several players sold at Anfield while a record sum was paid for new signings.

Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool on a free contract while Liverpool sold the likes of Luis Diaz, Caoimhin Kelleher, Darwin Nunez, Nathaniel Phillips and Jarell Quansah.

A few others also left on loan but Liverpool spent a record £446m on signing the likes of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Yet, despite being top of the Premier League after four wins from four, the Reds are yet to find their rhythm – a scary prospect for the rest of the division.

Alisson pays homage to Diaz and Nunez, says Liverpool miss them

Speaking to ESPN Sport Centre, the Brazilian goalkeeper discussed the club’s summer transfer window and while Liverpool have signed “stars”, Alisson believes Diaz and Nunez are sorely missed.

“All the players who left were important,” Alisson said. “Lucho, Darwin, they all made a difference for us with goals or their playing, fighting, defending.

“They had good energy, and we miss them. The ones who arrived are stars, they’re doing very well with their contributions, they have a lot of quality.

“It’s clear we want to improve because we need to; we have many competitions to play.”

When Liverpool hit top form, it’s going to be a sight to behold

Liverpool comfortably won the Premier League last season and are already in a commanding position. Three points clear at the top of the league table with Arsenal set to face Manchester City on the weekend.

However, the Reds need only focus on themselves. Wirtz and Ekitike have both been very impressive so far this season but neither is in top form yet.

Frimpong has missed football with an injury but his involvement on Sunday produced the penalty Mohamed Salah converted to beat Burnley in the dying moments of the game.

Kerkez seems like he needs time to adjust to the demands at Liverpool while fans are eagerly waiting for Alexander Isak to regain his fitness before he makes his debut.

When all these players are comfortable with the tactical demands placed on them and are feeling confident, Liverpool are going to be a sight to behold.
