Liverpool are remain locked in talks with PSG over the transfer of Bradley Barcola, with claims from France suggesting that the parties involved are confident that a deal will be agreed soon.
Last summer, Liverpool tried to sign Barcola but ended up pivoting to Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, but a year later and they will soon get their wish.
According to L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi, “all negotiating parties” are confident that an agreement will soon be found over a fee for Barcola, even though Liverpool are only willing to bid €30m (£25.7m) less than PSG’s reported €150m (£128m) asking price.
Tanzi reports: “All negotiating parties remain confident a solution will be found for Bradley Barcola to join Liverpool despite PSG wanting €150m + including bonuses and Liverpool signalling they are not prepared to go above €120m (£102m).”

Liverpool are also in talks to sign PSG stars Ibrahima Mbaye and Illia Zabarnyi, with completing attacking signings seen as a higher priority than signing defenders at this stage of the summer transfer window.
Barcola is perfect for Andoni Iraola and the Premier League
It’s no surprise that Liverpool are so serious about signing Barcola given his skillset. There are few attacking players more suited to Iraola’s expansive, attacking style of play than the 23-year-old.
In the last two seasons, Barcola has scored 33 goals and provided 28 assists, for a total of 61 goal contributions. Given how well he has performed for PSG in the Champions League and for France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, there is no doubt over his ability to translate this form to the Premier League.
Iraola will use him to stretch defences, creating more space in midfield for the likes of Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai to work their magic, while Alexander Isak is likely to be the biggest beneficiary.
Wingers like Barcola and Mbaye, not to mention Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz, will create a multitude of chances for the Swedish striker to return to the heights of the 2024/25 season when he scored 27 goals for Newcastle United.
Liverpool may be defensively vulnerable until the likes of Zabarnyi are signed, but they will certainly be a force to be reckoned with in attack which could paper over the cracks at the back.
