Liverpool have conceded four goals in two games, with the Reds yet to take the winning position even once. Both Newcastle and Nottingham Forest took the lead twice against Liverpool, with the Merseysiders needing to fight back from losing positions four times in two matches.
Andoni Iraola has made it clear that he’s aware of the deficiencies in Liverpool’s team, but says they are working on making new signings.
After the draw at Anfield, the Spaniard told reporters: “I cannot tell you anything different right now. It’s true that there are things going on, like is normal because we are talking about the last weeks of the market, but now we have to wait.
“I’m looking forward to having the squad [on] September 2, [so we can say] this is who we are and working with certainties. Now everything is quite like uncertain and it’s the same for every team, but it’s how the competition works. Now we have to wait just some [more] days and work with what we have after the market closes.”

Pre-season and the opening two games of the season have made it more than clear that Jeremie Frimpong cannot be the starting right back for the Reds.
The Reds need to sign a new midfielder anyway, but moving Szoboszlai to fullback after last season’s experiments under Arne Slot would solve multiple issues at once.
The first problem is that Szoboszlai leaves too many holes in midfield and is regularly caught too far ahead of the ball. At right back, he has the whole game in front of him, while also possessing the pace to cover the flanks.
The Hungarian put pen to paper on a new long-term £300,000 per week contract, and although I’m sure he wouldn’t have hoped to start the new deal by playing at right-back, it could be the tweak this team needs.
This won’t work, however, without adding someone like Lamine Camara in the No.6 role to shore up Liverpool’s midfield.
