Liverpool have rejected multiple approaches from Barcelona and Bayern Munich for Luis Diaz this summer but both clubs are ready to try their luck again.
The club has communicated to both clubs that they will not sell for less than the £72.5m they value Diaz at. Liverpool signed Diaz in 2022 for £37m and stand to nearly double their investment as they remain convinced they are under no pressure to sell.
Diaz is under contract at Anfield under 2027 but is reportedly unhappy with his terms and is seeking to either renew his contract with Liverpool or leave to find better remuneration elsewhere.
It’s understandable that Diaz, at the age of 28, is looking to capitalise on his best earning years as a professional footballer. It is a short career after all but Liverpool remain unwilling to increase his pay.
Luis Diaz remains “open” to transfer away from Liverpool in search of wage increase

The situation may be about to change as Fabrizio Romano reports that Diaz remains open to leaving Liverpool while Bayern Munich and Barcelona are ready to approach the Reds again.
Romano reports via X: “Luis Diaz remains open to leave Liverpool this summer, if good proposal arrives for the club.
“Liverpool FC rejected bids from Bayern and also an approach from Barça in June as they want to keep Diaz. Both Bayern and Barça plan to try again, in direct contact with his agents.”

Diaz is not at fault, and neither are Liverpool
It’s one of those situations where each party has an understandable logic for their actions.
Diaz is a wonderful player and is well aware that his services are in demand across Europe and in Saudi Arabia. There are very few clubs with a better left winger than the Colombian.
And yet, you can’t fault Liverpool for not being willing to offer him another contract. The one thing I would say is that Diaz has plenty to offer and in the modern game, wingers don’t suddenly drop off when they hit 30 like in the past.
Yet again, even Mohamed Salah – arguably the greatest ever Premier League forward – had to negotiate and wait painstakinly for 12 months for each of his two contract extensions.
FSG simply do not cave into pressure on these sort of occasions.
