Liverpool are hopefully in the final stretch of what has proven to be a lengthy and frustrating period of negotiations with PSG for Bradley Barcola.
The 23-year-old became the Reds’ No.1 target after talks between Liverpool and RB Leipzig for Yan Diomande broke down at the end of June, but it has been far from easy.
PSG have proven to be extremely tricky negotiators, but are now willing to compromise on their extremely high original valuation of £145m, although bringing Barcola to Anfield will still require Liverpool to make the former Lyon star their second most expensive signing of all time.
Liverpool spent £125m to bring Alexander Isak to the club last summer and this saga has mirrored Newcastle United’s unwillingness to compromise on a transfer fee, although it hasn’t required Barcola to go on strike to force the deal through.
With just a few days remaining in the 2026 summer transfer window, an agreement with PSG is set to arrive at the 11th hour, but when he finally joins the Merseyside outfit, fans will be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
The Times reports Liverpool will pay around £115m for Bradley Barcola as agreement with PSG approaches
Writing in a joint report for the Times, Paul Joyce and Martyn Ziegler claim that Liverpool are still in talks with PSG, adding that the final fee for the PSG star will be in the region of £115m.

Joyce reports: “Liverpool are set for more talks with Paris Saint-Germain as they look to sign winger Bradley Barcola before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
“The France international has been a priority for the Anfield club for much of the summer and lengthy negotiations are continuing in the hope of ending the impasse over the player’s valuation.
“PSG originally valued Barcola at £145million, but have since lowered their asking price. However, if an agreement is reached, the final fee is still expected to be about £115million.
“Barcola has two years remaining on his PSG contract but has made it clear he wants to leave having found himself behind Desire Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the pecking order. As a result, he has been excluded from head coach Luis Enrique’s plans.
“A replacement for Mohamed Salah on the right is also necessary, but is proving problematic. Liverpool missed out on their first choice, Yan Diomandé, the RB Leipzig attacker who has moved to Real Madrid for £120million, and have checked on numerous other players.
“Ibrahim Mbaye, 18, a PSG team-mate of Barcola, has been tracked, while inquiries to Real Madrid for Endrick and Crystal Palace for Ismaila Sarr received no encouragement. Palace are determined to keep the 28-year-old attacker, so no bid was made for Sarr.”
