Liverpool are gearing up for what will be a memorable summer, but a former scout now claims he thinks the club would be happy to sell a player to Everton.

Even if the Reds disappoint in the transfer market, any upgrades made on this squad will be exciting to see.

Not to mention that Liverpool fans will enjoy advertising their bragging rights as champions during the mid-season break.

All jokes aside, Arne Slot does have some important signings to make but there will also be a lot of outgoings. Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Caoimhin Kelleher are the three likeliest big-name exits at present.

Jarell Quansah, however, could join them in leaving the club after the title celebrations but only if sporting director Richard Hughes can find a club willing to meet Liverpool’s asking price.

Latest on Jarell Quansah’s summer transfer prospects

Liverpool reportedly want to sell Quansah for no less than £30m and former Everton scout Bryan King told Goodison News that he thinks the Reds wouldn’t be opposed to dealing with their Merseyside counterparts.

This wouldn’t be the first time a Liverpool player has joined Everton,” Bryan King said.

“Therefore, I couldn’t see that being a problem, and I think Liverpool will sell to the club that makes them the best offer. In addition, I’d imagine Quansah would be quite happy to move across Stanley Park.

“He is probably already living in the Liverpool area. Therefore, a move to Everton wouldn’t cause him or his family too many problems.”

How much is set to change in Liverpool’s defence?

Well, as things stand, Trent Alexander-Arnold remains destined for Real Madrid, Caoimhin Kelleher will be sold but beyond that, it’s a guessing game.

It is clear that neither Andy Robertson nor Kostas Tsimikas have helped their chances of starting for Arne Slot next season but Ibrahima Konate has also been strongly linked with an exit amid reportedly stalling contract talks.

Meanwhile, Joe Gomez might feel that at 27, it’s time for a new adventure but with his injury track record, Slot is likely not too keen on relying on him  to stay fit next season.

The great news is that Virgil van Dijk has extended his Liverpool contract and will be staying at Anfield for another two years. With the skipper staying, Liverpool have a lot less to worry about in terms of defensive recruitment.
