Mohamed Salah’s relationship with Arne Slot at Liverpool may clearly be broken, but the same reportedly applies to midfielder Curtis Jones.

It has been a dramatic week or so at Anfield, not least because Salah had this to say on social media last Saturday afternoon:

“I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that. Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve.

“I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.

“Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games. Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on. As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.”

Now, Tuttosport claim that Jones’ relationship with Slot is also a mess, saying he “broke up” with the Dutchman, which is why a summer exit at Liverpool is possible.

A move to Inter Milan is potentially on the cards in the summer transfer window, with the report saying he “continues to send signals via social media”, having told the Serie A giants “yes in January”.

Is Curtis Jones departing Liverpool as well?

Jones divides opinion at Liverpool, with some rating him highly and others feeling he is overhyped, but seeing him leave alongside others this summer would be a blow.

He is a homegrown player who knows the club inside out, not to mention an excellent squad option who can play in a variety of positions.

That said, if Slot is staying on as Liverpool’s head coach, Jones may have to leave, seeing as the 25-year-old is seemingly not on good terms with his boss.

But with Salah and Andy Robertson departing this summer, and possibly Alisson as well, Jones remaining a Reds player feels important, with another experienced figure moving on needing to be avoided.
