Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal has made their first move to sign Darwin Nunez as an Anfield exit beckons for the Uruguayan.
Liverpool are making headlines with their pursuit of Florian Wirtz but they will need to make significant sales this summer if they are to continue their trend of posting transfer market profits.
Of course, selling Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could come close to covering the funds required needed to sign Wirtz but Liverpool also need a new centre-forward and left-wing if that happens.
Latest: Darwin Nunez is open to signing for Al-Hilal as “first contact established”
According to journalist Santi Aouna, Nunez is willing to sign for Al-Hilal with the Saudi club now accelerating their interest in the Liverpool forward.
Their plan was to sign Victor Osimhen but after that fell through, they reportedly offered Viktor Gyokeres €35m per year to make the move but, again, they were rebuffed.
Now, Nunez is their target.
Aouna reports: “Darwin Nunez is open to join Al-Hilal.

The Saudi Pro League is Liverpool’s best chance of recouping the fee paid to Benfica for Nunez in 2022
While many fans dreamed of seeing Nunez become a world class forward at Anfield, it simply hasn’t worked out. The 25-year-old is so good at making space and finding himself in goalscoring positions but found it difficult to convert the many chances he received.
Now, Liverpool are looking to sell and, frankly, the silly money up for grabs in Saudi suits both Liverpool and Nunez. The striker gets massive wages to go and play in a less demanding, less pressurised league and Liverpool get their only chance at a massive fee for the striker.

They paid Benfica £64m upfront in 2022 and will be hoping to recoup as much of that from Al-Hilal.
