Liverpool will look to bring in a new attacking wide player at the end of the season, according to an update from reliable journalist David Ornstein.
The Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield is nearing its conclusion, with three matches remaining in the German’s legendary tenure on Merseyside.
Arne Slot will replace the 56-year-old as Liverpool manager this summer, with the current Feyenoord boss no doubt wanting to bring in players who can suit his style of play.
Speaking on The Athletic FC podcast [via Rousing The Kop], Ornstein claimed that Liverpool will look for a wide man this summer, although it remains to be seen if that is dependant on anyone leaving or not:
For that reason, another wide signing is needed in the summer window, in order to provide competition and also hopefully improve the Reds’ end product.
It remains to be seen who that may be, although Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been linked with a move to Anfield and could be an outstanding option.
The 23-year-old was influential in Napoli’s Serie A title win last season and has an overall tally of 50 goal contributions (24 goals and 26 assists) in 85 appearances for the club, and should he want a new challenge, Slot and Anfield could be ideal for him moving forward.
