Fabrizio Romano reports that Yankuba Minteh “dreams of joining Liverpool” to follow in the footsteps of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
The Reds are working on bringing Minteh to Anfield amid ongoing talks with PSG for Bradley Barcola.
A deal to sign Ibrahim Mbaye has collapsed amid valuation disagreements between Liverpool and PSG, which led to talks being opened with Brighton for Minteh. The 22-year-old is injured, but Liverpool have still made £50m and £60m offers, with the Seagulls looking for closer to £70m.
Liverpool and Brighton are reportedly set for fresh talks tonight, so time will tell what the result of these talks are, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Minteh wants very badly for this transfer to go through.

Romano has made it abundantly clear that Minteh is desperate to join the Reds, with a personal terms agreement already established between the player and Liverpool.

Romano said, via the Daily Briefing: “Liverpool are working on a deal to find two wingers because, for sure Bradley Barcola is the priority and remains the priority, but they want to add one more to the squad.
“For sure Yankuba Minteh from Brighton is a concrete option. They had two bids rejected – £50m and £60m. Liverpool remain in conversations with the player’s camp, but Minteh is not the only option for the winger position. he’s one of the names on the list.
“Again, Liverpool have had two bids rejected, but they are expected to try again, but there are also more names available on the shortlist of the directors for Liverpool.
“Minteh already agreed personal terms with Liverpool. He wants the move, he dreams of joining Liverpool after some African players did great there – from Mo Salah to his idol Sadio Mane – but for the moment we’re still waiting for a club-to-club agreement, which has still not been reached yet.”
The transfer window ends a week from Monday, so it’s vital that Liverpool get a deal for Minteh and Barcola done this week. Hopefully there will be more business to come in midfield to replace Curtis Jones, but Liverpool reportedly have no plan to replace him.
