Fabrizio Romano has predicted that Liverpool will make at least one new signing in the January transfer window as Arne Slot seeks further reinforcement.
The Dutchman was handed a £466million war chest in the summer transfer window and will likely be enabled to make further signings when the winter window opens next week.
Liverpool have moved back up to fifth place in the Premier League table after a run of improved performances, but there is still a great deal of improvement needed.
The Reds are particularly in need of defensive improvement, having conceded 25 goals in 17 league games already this season.
Liverpool reportedly have an agreement in place to sign Marc Guehi, but many believe there will be multiple additions at Anfield.
Romano predicts Liverpool to make January signings

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian journalist has claimed that his information indicates Liverpool are already active in their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo.
Romano said: “My information is that Liverpool have made some calls in terms of opportunities, like in November I told you about Semenyo.
“Then, already now in this month, in December, they started calling also for other players to understand some potential opportunities.
“So I would keep the door open for Liverpool movements in the January transfer window.
“We will try to understand the positions. Injuries and recovery time will also help to understand what Liverpool will decide to do.
“But I think there is a chance we’ll have a Liverpool here we go in the January transfer window.”
How many new signings do Liverpool need?

Liverpool primarily need a centre-back and a left wing. Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo would be the perfect double addition for the Reds.
After selling Luis Diaz, Liverpool did not replace him, and this has left Cody Gakpo as the club’s only senior left winger, with it now abundantly clear that Rio Ngumoha is not ready to shoulder that responsibility, despite reports to the contrary in the summer.
Similarly, Liverpool did not replace Jarell Quansah after he was sold to Bayer Leverkusen. This means that Slot can only call on Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez.
