Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola is “high” up on Liverpool’s attacking shortlist this summer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The Reds will surely be targeting at least two wide attacking players before next season gets underway, having struggled so much there this season.
Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo provided a lack of pace throughout the campaign, and while Rio Ngumoha is an explosive talent, he remains a work in progress who needs to be managed carefully.
Writing on X on Tuesday morning, Romano claimed that PSG ace Barcola is a leading summer option for Liverpool, with Diomande also mentioned:
“Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool are both in talks with Yan Diomande’s camp over move this summer. Decision up to Diomande but also RB Leizpig after they had offered new deal + release clause.
“LFC also have Bradley Barcola high on shortlist.”
Liverpool need to sign Bradley Barcola AND Yan Diomande
Barcola would be such an eye-catching signing by Liverpool in the summer transfer window, having been praised hugely by scout Jacek Kulig back in 2024:
“Six goals in six games by Bradley Barcola in Ligue 1 this season. 22 years of age. He’s proving to be the perfect replacement for Mbappe and is already establishing himself as one of the top inside forwards in Europe.”
Still only 23, Barcola has so much long-term potential, and he will hope to win a second consecutive Champions League title when PSG take on Arsenal on Saturday.
Ideally, Liverpool have to be looking to sign both the Frenchman and Diomande, with the former at his best on the left wing and the latter shining most on the right.
Both are versatile enough to swap sides, though, and they would give the Reds the speed that they have lacked so much this season, which would help get the best out of the likes of Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.
In fact, a third winger wouldn’t go amiss, in terms of squad depth, but it remains to be seen if Liverpool are able to use so much of their summer transfer budget on three signings in the same area of the pitch.
