Liverpool are interested in signing “special” talent, Giovanni Leoni, who starred for Parma last season with the 18-year-old now firmly on the Reds’ radar.
On Sunday, Liverpool gave a great account of the way they will take shape in defence of their Premier League title.
Attacking signings Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike starred while Jeremie Frimpong backed up suggestions for why he will be a key component of Arne Slot’s attack in the season to come.
Milos Kerkez was also very impressive but he suffered more due to the imbalanced midifeld that start the game. Dominik Szoboszlai started on the left of midfield when he’s better on the right while, Curtis Jones doesn’t offer the defensive strengths needed to make room for a creative talent like Wirtz.

Liverpool missed Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch. That was the key takeway from Sunday.
Another major topic that was perfectly highlighted was the the lack of depth to Liverpool’s squad. The starting lineup – once Slot nails down a winning midfield combo – is near perfect.
The depth in attack and at centre-back is lacking.
Fabrizio Romano raves about Giovanni Leoni amid Liverpool links
Liverpool need to increase the number of reliable centre-back options and it would appear they are only seriously considering moves for Marc Guehi and Giovanni Leoni.
Leoni, 18, is a poential superstar. Short of such sensationa claims, he has certainly proven that he is mature beyond his years, as strong as an ox and more than intelligent enough to read and understand the game at a high level.
He’s not ready to be competing for a starting place with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate but he’s also good enough to go toe to toe with Premier League attackers.
On this rising star, Fabrizio Romano has big things to say.

Speaking on his podcast, Romano raved about the Italian prodigy and says Liverpool have by no means not noticed how bright is future is.
“We follow Italian football and we know how special this kid is,” the reporter told The Here We Go Podcast. “Probably the biggest young star we have in Italy in this position now.
“He already played under pressure last season because Parma were competing to avoid relegation.
“He was excellent even playing against top strikers like Lautaro Martinez, [Romelu] Lukaku, he had fantastic performances against the big teams.”
