Federico Chiesa’s Liverpool career is set to come to an end just one year after signing for the Reds with the forward set to return to Italy.

It’s a pity it hasn’t worked out for Chiesa at Liverpool as he seems to be the perfect character fit for the Reds but sometimes in football things don’t go as planned.

That said, the former Juve star can’t be too unhappy with a Premier League medal and a very good wage considering he has spent his time on the bench, earning around £150,000 per week, per Capology.

Liverpool fans are happy for him to go on and seek regular football elsewhere especially with one year remaining until the 2026 World Cup.

Inter Milan “stands out forcefully” among Chiesa’s summer transfer options

A report from Calcioblog, an independent news outlet focusing on Italian football, claims that Inter Milan “stands out forecefully” to sign Chiesa and get him back to his best.

The player “has decided” that a move to the San Siro is the best shot he has at getting back into the form that saw him help Italy win the Euros in 2020.

Chiesa’s decline over the last two years has been sad to see as injuries have forced him to take more time off than he would prefer but a return to Inter would allow him a chance to fight for a place in Italy’s World Cup squad.

The report states: “If two years ago Chiesa ‘s price tag exceeded €70m, today – thanks to the contract expiring in 2026, the inconsistent performances and the few minutes accumulated – his value has drastically reduced, arriving at an estimate of around €18-20 million .

“A figure that is decidedly more accessible for Inter ‘s coffers , who are carefully looking at the opportunity to bring to Milan a player eager for redemption and still in the prime of his footballing maturity.

“Nothing has been decided yet, but the signals are clear: Federico Chiesa wants to return to Italy and Inter is among the most serious candidates to welcome him”
