Mohamed Salah admits he doesn’t know if this weekend will be the last time he faces Manchester City in a Liverpool shirt, dropping a fresh hint about his future.

The 32-year-old has been sensational for the Reds this season, not least in the Premier League, scoring 24 goals and registering 15 assists in the competition.

Salah is the red-hot favourite to win the PFA Player of the Year award in the spring – if he does, he will become the first player in history to take home the prize three times.

Sadly, uncertainly continues to surround the Egyptian’s future at Liverpool, however, with no new deal signed yet and his current contract expiring at the end of this season.

Speaking to Premier League Productions [via The Boot Room], Salah admitted that he can’t say for sure if Sunday’s crucial trip to the Etihad will be the final time he takes on City for the Reds:

“To be fair, I don’t know. I just feel like my whole focus now is to win the Premier League, it doesn’t matter if it’s the last game or not the last game, we will see.”

Get it sorted, Liverpool

Salah’s importance to Liverpool remains as big as ever, if not more so, with the Reds legend carrying the attack the more the season has gone on.

In the last four Premier League games, Arne Slot’s side have only scored one goal that the forward hasn’t either netted himself or assisted himself – Luis Diaz’s chested effort at home to Wolves last weekend.

The thought of Salah departing this summer doesn’t bear thinking about for Liverpool, considering their iconic No.11 is now arguably seen as one of the greatest attacking players in the history of English football.

There is no reason why he can’t remain at a world-class level for the foreseeable future, too, especially given how he looks after himself off the pitch.

Hopefully, Liverpool end up giving Salah what he feels he deserves, in terms of his contract, and exactly the same applies to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, as Reds supporters continue to sweat over their respective futures.
