Real Madrid superstar Endrick is an “interesting name” for Liverpool when it comes to potential transfer targets, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
With only just over a week of the summer transfer window remaining, the Reds have still only signed Victor Munoz as a winger, and lost the legendary Mohamed Salah.
Paris Saint-Germain ace Bradley Barcola remains the No.1 target for Liverpool in that area, while two bid for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh have been turned down. PSG teenager Ibrahim Mbaye is seen as another option on the right flank, too.
Speaking to Football Insider, O’Rourke has now talked up the potential signing of Endrick, amid doubts over his future at Madrid under new manager Jose Mourinho:
“He’s an interesting name for Liverpool, no doubt about it. It’s going to be interesting to see where he fits in at Real Madrid in this upcoming season, having seen Yan Diomande come in, and obviously Vinicius Junior has signed a new contract as well. He’s going to find it hard to get into that starting eleven at Real Madrid. It will all be dependent on where Endrick sees his future.”
Is Endrick a viable transfer target for Liverpool?
There is no debate about Endrick’s talent and reputation as one of the most exciting young attacking players in Europe, with Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti hailing his ability:
But it is hard to see Liverpool making a move for Endrick any time soon, given their pursuit of Barcola and Minteh, and it feels likely that he will remain at Madrid for the time being.
A loan move is possible, but the Spanish giants would surely be hesitant to sell such a gifted player permanently, considering the long-term potential that he has.
It would be fantastic to see the 20-year-old Endrick in a Liverpool shirt, allowing him to light up Anfield with his attacking magic, but it feels more like a pipe dream than anything.
