Liverpool’s chances of completing the signing of Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz have been assessed by former scout Keith Wyness.

The 20-year-old Turkey international is a huge talent with a big future in the game, so it is no surprise that there is plenty of interest in him.

Providing an update on the situation to Football Insider, Wyness claimed that Kenan Yildiz is likely to stay at Juventus for the time being, amid interest from Liverpool and others.

“I’m afraid I don’t think he’s going to go anywhere. I’ve talked to my sources down in Italy and they said no, he’s going to stay. If it he were to go to anybody, I don’t think it’d be Liverpool, I don’t think it’s going to be Arsenal. It could be Chelsea.

“That’s just another what-if, but I think it’s a small chance. I don’t think he’s going to be one who’s going to move this summer. He’s still going to be down at Juventus, and so I’m saying a no to that one from all I’m hearing.”

Is Yildiz a target to return to for Liverpool?

For now, it looks as though Liverpool will have to look elsewhere for wide attacking signings, but their interest in Yildiz shouldn’t go away in the long-term, given his potential.

The Turk has incredible natural ability, already scoring 18 goals and registering 15 assists in 92 appearances for Juve, while scout Jacek Kulig has spoken of his admiration for him, calling him “brilliant talent” earlier this year.

Yildiz’s versatility not only allows him to shine on both wings, but also as a second striker, which would surely appeal to Arne Slot, and he has even played as a centre forward sporadically, meaning he can be a force all the way across the attack.

The Juve ace is so young that there is no great rush for Liverpool to sign him, but if he does suddenly become available at some point, with his current club looking to cash in on him – he is out of contract in the summer of 2029 – the Reds should be primed to make a move for him.
