Liverpool confident in beating Arsenal to sign Alexander Isak in club-record deal.

Liverpool are growing increasingly confident that they can secure the signing of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer, according to TBR Football.

The Reds have already reached out to the Swedish forward’s representatives following his impressive performance in the Carabao Cup final, where he scored the decisive goal in Newcastle’s 2-1 victory over Liverpool.

With Arsenal also pushing hard to land Isak, Liverpool are preparing to break their transfer record to ensure they win the race for the in-form striker.

Liverpool ready to break transfer record for Isak

According to TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, Liverpool are prepared to surpass the £85 million they paid for Darwin Nunez in 2022 to bring Isak to Anfield.

However, Newcastle are reportedly unwilling to put a price tag on their star forward, with figures of around £120 million being speculated as the starting point for negotiations.

Isak has emerged as Liverpool’s number one transfer target, and the club is backing itself to outmanoeuvre Arsenal in securing his signature.

The Reds are keen to make a statement in the market, with contract negotiations for Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk also underway during the international break. If both players can be convinced to stay, Liverpool’s squad could be positioned for a serious title charge next season with Isak leading the attack.

Liverpool exploring player swap options

Liverpool are reportedly willing to offer players in exchange to Newcastle in an effort to sweeten the deal. Names such as Joe Gomez – who Newcastle have long admired – as well as young talents like Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, and Ben Doak have been mentioned as potential makeweights in a deal for Isak.

However, while Liverpool are set to part ways with Darwin Nunez, the Uruguayan will not be included in any swap deal, as Newcastle have no interest in signing him.

Newcastle determined to keep Isak

Despite Liverpool’s confidence, Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan is reportedly determined to keep Isak at St. James’ Park. The Swedish international is said to be Al-Rumayyan’s “favourite player,” and Newcastle have no intention of entertaining bids, no matter how high the offer.

Still, if Liverpool can apply the right pressure and offer an attractive deal, they may have a chance to turn the Magpies’ stance around.

A potential game-changer for Liverpool

Should Liverpool successfully bring Isak to Anfield, it would be a major statement of intent. The 25-year-old is already Premier League-proven and would provide Arne Slot with a lethal, clinical presence in attack.

Much like Mohamed Salah when he arrived, Isak has the potential to be a game-changing signing for Liverpool. If the Reds pull this off, they could enter next season as clear favorites to reclaim the Premier League title.
