Heartbreaking as it is that Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave the club at the end of the season, it does provide some much-needed perspective as the Reds prepare for a criticial summer transfer window.
Many fans thought Arne Slot would make more signings in his first summer transfer window and even then, he has barely used Federico Chiesa. Giorgi Mamardashvili will arrive from Valencia to replace Caoimhin Kelleher, who is set to leave.
Darwin Nunez will also take his leave at the end of the season with a potential move to the Saudi Pro League, reports Alex Crook. While speaking live on talkSPORT, he spoke to presenter Sam Matterface and Jermaine Jenas as they evaluated Liverpool’s current standing.
Liverpool are set to splash the cash as Arne Slot prepares to build without Trent Alexander-Arnold
For quite some time, it has been the general consensus of supporters that the club will make significant investment into the squad. While it has largely been based on the quiet window Liverpool had before the start of this season, Crook now claims that Slot will have cash to spend on his side.

A replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold is needed but it has been quite quiet on that front in terms of links in the press. It would not come as a surprise to see the Reds get a deal done for a new right back without much media coverage.
A report today from the Athletic revealed that Alexander-Arnold informed Slot of his decision to leave in March so the club has already had a decent amount of time to look at targets.
At left-back, Liverpool are seemingly close to signing Milos Kerkez but until that becomes official, anything could happen although Kostas Tsimikas will leave in the summer while Andy Robertson is hoping for a new contract.
Midfield signings are less important but Slot may want to make the engine room his own with a signing of his own choosing given he is still working with what Klopp left behind – not that it’s an issue by any means.
Alex Crook suggests Liverpool are looking at three strikers Arsenal also want
“Striker-wise,” Alex Crook began. “Liverpool are probably fishing in the same pool as the likes of Arsenal – and Manchester United probably as well. You look Gyokeres, Sesko, maybe Victor Osimhen.
“I think the plan would be to move Darwin Nunez on, maybe to Saudi Arabia and bring in a new number nine.”
?? Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen are all names that Liverpool are looking at to lead the line at Anfield from next season.

Out of the three, Gyokeres would be my personal preference. The Swedish striker is an incredible goalscorer with 52 goals and 12 assists in 49 games for Sporting Lisbon this season.
While some may argue it’s a lot easier for a striker playing league football in Portugal, Gyokeres has six goals in eight Champions League games this season which is better than the three goals and four assists Salah managed in nine games.
