A Liverpool move to sign Alexander Isak remains on the table even in spite of the £78m move the Reds have just completed for Hugo Ekitike.
The French forward – now formerly of Eintracht Frankfurt – is quick, skilful and clinical in front of goal but Isak remains one of the most elite strikers in the world.
Liverpool need two srtikers this summer but it just never seemed realistic that they would sign two top class forwards.
Yet, today, multiple reports have emerged that suggest Liverpool could still defy expectations with a move to sign Isak.
Daily Mail chief football reporter, Craig Hope, broke news this morning that Isak has not travelled with Newcastle United on their pre-season tour of Singapore.

On its own, that could mean little more than an injury or another attempt from Eddie Howe to protect his star man from the speculation surrounding his future.
But, since Hope’s report, a lot of exciting claims surrounding Isak and Liverpool have emerged.
Liverpool signing Isak no longer seems a remote possibility – it now seems like it could actually happen
According to another report Craig Hope and the Daily Mail, Isak reported a thigh injury to Newcastle earlier this week and subsequently did not travel with the squad to Singapore.
However, Hope adds that “the club’s hierarchy are aware of Isak’s wish to consider his options this summer.”
Liverpool remain interested in signing Isak.
Fabrizio Romano reports that “Isak remains a target for Liverpool even after signing Ekitike… but depends on Newcastle.”

Even more excitingly, Ian Doyle of the Liverpool Echo reports that Liverpool are primed to make a sensational move for the striker. Now on standby to make a record bid.”
Isak AND Ekitike?
Considering it was Newcastle United’s dream all along to pair Ekitike and Isak together, it’s bordering on rude for Liverpool to go ahead and make it happen but at Anfield.
Arne Slot must have an incredible grand plan for all these talented players and while I have no clue how it will look when they’re all bedded in and up to speed, it’s thrilling to imagine.
