Liverpool are ready to press forward and complete two moves for Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi to round out what has been an excellent transfer window so far.

With two wins from two games against Bournemouth and Newcastle, Arne Slot has made an imortant start to the season if he is going to defend his crown as Champion of England.

The Dutchman has been given more money to spend this summer than any other coach in Liverpool history although his sporting director Richard Hughes did excellent work generating fees for the players that have left.

Now, however, the main focus is for Liverpool to wrap up deals to sign Isak and Guehi and by doing so, settle the concerns over lack of depth in attack and at centre-back.

What’s the latest on Liverpool’s hopes of signing Isak and Guehi this summer?

Reporting via Twitter, journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that the Reds are prepared to complete the two transfers but supporters are nervous about how things will pan out.

Plettenberg says: “Liverpool are ready to finalise the transfers of Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi by Deadline Day.

“Agreements have been reached with both players. In both cases, the main issue is that their current clubs need to find adequate replacements. LFC are waiting patiently.”

Liverpool have done this to themselves

Only Liverpool could find a way to land themselves in this position after the unbelievable start to the 2025 summer transfer window.

If the window ends without Guehi and Isak making the move to Anfield then it will unfortunately be considered a failure. Liverpool have signed potential superstars in Wirtz and Ekitike but if they don’t replace Luis Diaz after allowing him to join Bayern Munich, it will be difficult to explain.

Jarell Quansah joined Bayer Leverkusen at the start of July – almost two full months ago but the club has allowed the Guehi deal to drag along for ages now.

Fingers crossed this window doesn’t end in disappointment and more importantly, after how Arsenal have strengthened, Liverpool would be giving them a chance to win the title if they don’t add more depth to their squad soon.
