Liverpool are reportedly interested in completing the signing of Midtjylland winger Dario Osorio this summer, with rivals Everton also said to be in the mix.
It is now only five days until the Reds open their Premier League account for 2026/27, making the trip to Newcastle United for a potentially tough game.
For Andoni Iraola, it is his first competitive game in charge of Liverpool, and the Spaniard was happy with the physical side of his squad after Sunday’s 2-0 win over Como at Anfield:
“I think we are better than we were last week. Still, I hope next week we are better than we were today. It’s normal but first halves are still better than second halves. But today a lot of players played 90 minutes, 80 minutes and they finished [with] no cramps, apparently nothing major. So, it’s keep building these fitness levels, this also [mentality] even when you are not as fresh [to] keep the focus so you don’t make the big mistakes. I think it’s an improvement but still – especially second half – we need to be better.”
Iraola will know the importance of new signings for Liverpool between now and the end of the month, especially in attacking wide areas, and according to Campo [via Sport Witness], Osorio is on their radar.
The 22-year-old Midtjylland ace is also being eyed up by Everton, Fulham and AC Milan, but it doesn’t look as though any approaches have been made for him yet.
Could Dario Osorio be a shrewd Liverpool addition?
Liverpool continue to try to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola, and if they were able to snap up both him and Osorio, it could be great business.
The latter would cost far less, being valued at £17.1m by Midtjylland, but he is a hugely gifted player in his own right, being hailed by teammate Jonas Lossl in the past:
“His kick is so natural and clean. He can turn the foot in a way that only the best I’ve seen can. Those who know golf know this perfectly pure battle where you make the ball perfectly. That’s the pure turn that Dario has, just with the leg. And it’s so delicious.”
Osorio is a right winger by trade and has won 25 caps for Chile, and given his age, price tag and talent, there is a lot to like about Liverpool making a move for him.
