Kostas Tsimikas could stay in the Premier League even though Liverpool are expected to sell him this summer to make way for incoming left-back Milos Kerkez.

While not complete or official yet, Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign the Hungarian fullback from Bournemouth.

Yesterday, Fabrizio Romano revealed how close a deal to sign the 21-year-old is.

He said: “My information, guys, is that Kerkez already has an agreement on personal terms with Liverpool. So just about some small details to be clarified,” Romano states.

“And then Liverpool are in contact with Bournemouth. Liverpool are still working on this one. So not only Wirtz, not only Frimpong, also in active conversations for Kerkez, and this week, the conversations will continue to get the deal done.”

A recent report from Sky Sports confirmed Liverpool’s plans to sell Tsimikas, who is “expected to be moved on.” Now, it seems as though the ‘Greek Scouser’ will stay in the Premier League if interest from Leeds is real.

Liverpool fans may be saying goodbye to Tsimikas but he may not go too far

According to Football Insider‘s Peter O’Rourke, Tsimikas would be a perfect addition to newly promoted Leeds United which would also keep him in the Premier League which Liverpool fans might enjoy.

“Obviously [Tsimikas] is facing an uncertain future at Anfield this summer.

“It does look like Liverpool are trying to push ahead with a deal for Milos Kerkez, and if the Hungarian was to arrive, that would push Tsimikas even further down the pecking order.

“Leeds are going to be in the market for a new left-back in the summer’s window, with Junior Firpo likely to leave… [Tsimikas] could come straight into that team and improve them.

“He’s under contract until 2027, so I don’t think Liverpool would command a huge transfer fee if they were to sell Tsimikas – you are probably looking between £12m-£15m maybe, for Liverpool to sell him.”

Just like Kelleher, Liverpool fans are extremely grateful to him for his contributions since joining the club, particularly his final-winning penalty in 2022.
