Liverpool are “desperate” to agree a contract extension with Andy Robertson, according to fresh comments from former scout Mick Brown.
There is so much focus on Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah currently, but other Reds players are also slowly coming towards the end of their current deals.
One such figure is Robertson, whose contract expires in 2026, and speaking to Football Insider, Brown claimed that Liverpool are “desperate” to extend his stay at Anfield:
“They want Robertson to commit to a new deal. Tsimikas has been more involved this season and Slot likes to rotate those two, but they still feel he’s a valuable presence on and off the pitch.
A younger left-back needs to come in as first choice next summer – Tsimikas isn’t consistent enough to take that honour – but Robertson still has plenty left to offer.
The Scot will know that he has been lacking top form recently, but he is a strong character and will be desperate to silence the doubters.
