Liverpool are said to be interested in signing a big young talent from one of Europe’s great clubs throughout history, according to a new claim.
The Reds are still on the lookout to strengthen their squad, despite enjoying one of the most impressive summer transfer windows in their history.
While world-class names have been brought in by Liverpool, not least Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, it is also important that the Premier League champions focus on bringing in exciting young talent.
According to a new report from TEAMtalk, the Reds are eyeing a move for teenage Ajax defender Aaron Bouwman, with him and teammate Jorthy Mokio both “drawing intense interest from the Premier League’s big hitters and La Liga royalty.”
Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona and Manchester City are also thought to be “circling” for the 18-year-old’s signature, as Liverpool look to pip some of their biggest rivals to his signature.
Another great long-term prospect alongside Leoni?
As mentioned, it is always imperative that Liverpool plan for the long-term future, ensuring that the club continues to be one of Europe’s major powerhouses for many years to come.
This is why the Reds signing Bouwman would be such an encouraging piece of business, with the Ajax starlet’s quality highlighted by the pedigree of the clubs battling to sign him.
Meanwhile, The Secret Scout have pointed out that the centre-back is the latest special talent to emerge from the Dutch giants’ legendary academy, saying:
“No Hato? No problem… meet 17-Year-Old Aaron Bouwman who made his first start today. Conveyor belt.”
With Giovanni Leoni already signed from Parma this summer, it certainly looks as though Liverpool to target huge defensive talent, ensuring that they are sorted in that position long beyond the days of Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez.
If Bouwman reaches his enormous potential, and Liverpool manage to beat others to him in the near future, he and Leoni could forge the Reds’ next special centre-back pairing.
That said, a transfer is still a long way off, with no bid submitted yet, but Bouwman will surely see the champions as one of the most exciting propositions currently.
