Liverpool representatives are reportedly set to fly to Madrid to hold talks over signing Brazilian forward Rodrygo as part of their ambitious summer window.

Arne Slot has defied all expectations since joining Liverpool and after winning the Premier League having only signed Federico Chiesa at the time, the Dutchman is going for broke this summer.

Liverpool have already added Florian Wirtz and co. to the lineup with reliable reporters claiming this week that they also plan to add Alexander Isak to their already outstanding array of world class talent.

However, if reports are to be believed, it’s not going to stop there as they are now planning on holding talks to sign 24-year-old Rodrygo.

Liverpool inform Madrid of Rodrygo interest, no offer yet but trip to Spain planned

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool “appreciate” the talent of Rodrygo and have formally expressed their interest to Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, a report from AS claims that Liverpool plan to fly to Madrid to discuss a deal for Rodrygo with Real in person.

According to the report, “Arsenal’s interest has been joined in recent days by that of a giant like Liverpool.

“The Reds are preparing for a strong summer in terms of investment.

“Following Wirtz ‘s arrival, they expect the addition of a defender ( Jorrel Hato ), a striker ( Alexander Isak is a strong candidate), Hugo Ekitike as a backup, and a left winger.

“Rodrygo is the chosen one for that role, and they will do everything in their power to make it happen. The first step has already been laid: they will send an emissary to the capital in the coming days or weeks to initiate official contacts .”

AS states that Madrid want almost £87m for Rodrygo which means with the price to sign Isak around £120m, Liverpool will need to spend over £200m to complete their final three signings of 2025.

Rodrygo is a special player and would be a brilliant addition to the squad if Luis Diaz leaves this summer as is highly reported.

Last season, Rodrygo scored 14 goals and assisted 11 but with more game time, a more consistent expectation of which role he will play in and the style of play Liverpool employs, the Brazilian should be a star for the Reds if he joins.
