Liverpool have reportedly formally registered their interest in Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure, but face competition from several Premier League teams.
The Reds are in the market for pacy, direct wingers after the failures of Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo this season. The former struggled to replicate his record-breaking form displayed en route to the 2025 Premier League title.
There will be a lot of change in the Liverpool setup this summer, with some suggesting that Arne Slot should also be let go after his own failure to perform this season.
One thing is clear: Liverpool will be very active in the market this summer, but not as busy as last year’s £460m spend.
Transfer latest as Liverpool make contact for Bazoumana Toure amid PL transfer race
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool “have formally registered their interest” in the Bundesliga forward, with Toure tipped to leave Hoffenheim this summer.

The TEAMtalk report reads: “The club is open to a sale but will demand a fee between €30-40million (up to £34.6m / $46.4m), potentially rising to above their club-record sale of Joelinton to Newcastle for €45million (£38.9m / $52.2m), when including add-ons.
“Toure is contracted until 2029 with no release clause, giving the German a strong start in any negotiations.
“Liverpool have formally registered their interest and informed Hoffenheim, viewing the youngster as a potential long-term option on the wing. However, Man Utd cannot be discounted from the race, either.”
Manchester United have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race for Toure’s signature, although the winger is not a priority for the Mancunians.
Toure would be a good signing, but he cannot be a starter yet
Still only 20, Toure is not yet at the grade required to take Liverpool forward. That said, his five goals and 12 assists in the Bundesliga this season is very encouraging.

With Salah leaving at the end of the season, and Luis Diaz yet to be replaced, Liverpool need elite talent on the wings if they are to return to the devastating attack showcased last season.
Last term, Salah scored and assisted a total of 57 goals in all competitions, while Diaz directly contributed to 25 goals. This season, the Colombian has 26 goals and 22 assists for Bayern Munich, underlining the loss he represents for Liverpool.
