Liverpool have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola this summer, and now journalist Pete O’Rourke has provided the latest on the situation.
The 23-year-old is currently on 2026 World Cup duty with France, scoring two goals and registering one assist at the tournament, and he could be a fantastic option for the Reds.
Speaking to Football Insider, O’Rourke said that Liverpool continue to pursue a move for Barcola, and they are right in the mix if the player himself decides he wants to leave PSG:
“Liverpool are big admirers of Bradley Barcola. They have had him on their radar for a while, so they will see if they can do a deal. It’s not going to be easy, PSG are not rushing him out the door, they’re claiming he’s not for sale, they want to keep him and they’re under no real pressure to sell.
“A lot of it will come down to probably the player and his will, if he wants to move in search of regular first team football, if he’s not going to get that at the Parc de Princes. If he pushes for a move, it could mean Liverpool have a chance and PSG might be willing to let him go, but a lot will depend on how he feels.”

With former leading wide target Yan Diomande looking set to join PSG this summer, Barcola could now be the next-best thing, outlining his class at the World Cup.
The £116m+rated France star has pace to burn, and most importantly, end product, with his national team manager Didier Deschamps showing his appreciation for him, saying:
“The truth is, Barcola has that quality. He’s been effective lately, but he also has the ability to be a starter. When he doesn’t score for a period, people say he’s not effective. The important thing is to have that consistency. He’s still young, like Warren Zaire-Emery. Every player has their own profile. Barcola is capable of making a difference, but he also poses an additional threat to the opposition.”
At 23, Barcola is still young, is a two-time Champions League winner and can be a threat on both wings, and while he will likely cost a huge amount, he could help transform Liverpool’s ailing attack from last season.
