Liverpool are believed to have made contact with Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri over a move to the club this summer, in an exciting new update.
The Reds must nail their summer transfer business in the next few months, following such a disappointing season, with quality and depth required in various areas of the pitch.
Two wingers need to be at the top of Liverpool’s wishlist, with the likes of Yan Diomande, Bradley Barcola and Bazoumana Toure continuing to be linked with moves to the club.
According to a respected source on X, Liverpool have made contact with Nwaneri over a switch to Anfield in the summer, with the Gunners even “open” to selling him:
“Liverpool has been keeping a close eye on Ethan Nwaneri, a young talent who has caught their attention. We understand Arsenal is open to selling him to rivals if the price is right. Our sources state contact has been made, and it’s evident that LFC admire his potential.”

Nwaneri is an enormous young talent and once became the youngest player in the history of English football to appear in the top flight, at 15 years and 181 days.
The Englishman is still only 19 years of age, but regular football is hard to come by at Arsenal, due to the attacking options at Mikel Arteta’s disposal.
Liverpool should look to take advantage of Nwaneri’s situation, with the winger possessing so much natural ability and being hailed by Chris Sutton in the past:
“Ethan Nwaneri, as well, his performance again. Young players at times can come into the team and hit the ground running and then take a dip, but he looks phenomenal. Arsenal will take some stopping in this competition.”
It seems strange that Arsenal would be willing to sell such a talented homegrown youngster to a rival, but if he becomes available, Liverpool should act fast.
Nwaneri has the potential to mature into a truly elite attacking player, and while some may have reservations about the Gunners being happy to move him on, there is so much to admire about him, and Andoni Iraola could love him as an option.
