Liverpool have “probably” already wrapped up a deal to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth this summer, says Ian Wright.

Arne Slot may have games remaining in the Premier League but with the title already in the bag, the Dutch manager can turn some of his attention to getting his side ready for next season.

Pre-season plans are likely already sorted and so recruitment will soon be the only thing Slot has to worry about and left-back is one of the key areas that will determine how strong Liverpool start the 2025/26 season.

Andy Robertson has recently discussed his future and revealed he is hoping to receive a contract offer from the club. He said: “I’ve had eight wonderful years so far and I have a year left. I am not as young as I once was but I love this club and I have had some great memories here, so let’s see what the future holds.”

Kostas Tsimikas, however, is likely to be sold with the Reds “expected to move him on” in the summer transfer window with Liverpool said to be looking for a left-back that can initially compete with Robbo for game time before replacing him as the guaranteed starting left-back.

Ian Wright says Liverpool have probably already completed a deal to sign Kerkez

Michael Owen was talking on Premier League Productions and he brought up Milos Kerkez and his summer transfer prospects before asking Ian Wright for his take.

The Arsenal legend reckons Liverpool have likely already done everything they need to at this stage to sign him in the summer.

Owen said: “That’s a talented team, they’ve got some really talented players in the squad. As I just referred to before, they might just have a really difficult summer trying to shield a lot of their players away from the pack, really.

“Liverpool might come in for Kerkez. You’ve got Semenyo, who’s a top player. Arsenal are looking for their centre-half as well, maybe, Wrighty?

Wright replied: “Yeah, Huijsen, he’s really impressive. I think Kerkez, that’s probably done, for me.

“The amount of talk we’ve been doing for so long, that’s probably done, which is a shame. He’s a fantastic player.”

Kerkez will reportedly cost £40million this summer which would be a great fee especially if Liverpool can generate a healthy transfer fee for Kostas Tsimikas if they do indeed sell him.
