Liverpool have sent scouts to watch exciting young Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure in action, according to a promising new transfer claim.

A new wide man has to be at the top of the Reds’ summer list of priorities, not just because Mohamed Salah is leaving, but also due to Cody Gakpo’s dip over the past 12 months.

Many wingers have been linked with moves to Liverpool when the summer transfer window eventually opens, with Bayern Munich star Michael Olise arguably considered the perfect Salah replacement.

Now, a new report from SportBild [via Sport Witness] claims that Toure is being scouted by Liverpool, having sent representatives to watch him in action for the Ivory Coast at Everton’s Hill Dickinson stadium.

The 20-year-old is considered another great potential addition with fellow Bundesliga youngster Yan Diomande, who has impressed for RB Leipzig.

Toure is valued at £34.8m and has been eyed up by the Reds throughout this season, and his “pace and resilience” are said to have stood out.

Bazoumana Toure another great young wide option for Liverpool

Toure isn’t yet a household name, given his age, but he is a player with an enormous amount of promise, being hailed this week by journalist Bence Bocsak, who lauded his many qualities, saying:

“Not at all surprised to see Sports Bild linking Liverpool with Bazoumana Touré. One of the fastest and most hard-working high intensity players in the Bundesliga. On top of that he’s an excellent provider. He ranks fourth for assists (11) and 2nd for crosses per 90 (5.32). Not to mention he has the best dribble success rate (69%) among players who’ve attempted 4.5 dribbles per 90.”

Toure is a left winger by trade, but is also adept in a right-sided role, which could mean he is seen as a possibility to succeed Salah on that flank.

A tally of 14 assists in just 39 appearances for Hoffenheim shows what a creative asset he could be for Liverpool, and while two goals isn’t a strong return, that number should only improve as he matures.

The Reds should certainly have him in the mix alongside Diomande, and if they were able to sign one of them on top of Olise, or a player of his ilk, it would be a strong summer in the market.
