Liverpool are pushing to sign a young player who has been compared to Jude Bellingham, according to an exciting new transfer claim.

The Reds had a non-existent January transfer window when it came to incoming signings, with no new faces arriving at Anfield, and the loan exits of the likes of Jayden Danns and Kaide Gordon the biggest stories.

While supporters were content enough about that, considering how much Liverpool are excelling under Arne Slot, there is no excuse not to bring in significant reinforcements at the end of the season.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are the “most advanced” when it comes to talks with the representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson, with the same applying to Arsenal and Manchester United.

19 appearances in the Bundesliga this season, starting 15 of those matches, and he has even been compared to Bellingham by analyst Ben Mattinson, who has said:

“When giving the eye test on Larsson he’s very similar to Bellingham stylistically and was initially my pick to replace Jude at Dortmund but he suits Frankfurt very well and they’re building a top team. Excited to see how he settles in.”

Liverpool’s midfield is admittedly well-stocked with superb options currently, but long-term planning is essential, not to mention the fact that injuries and fatigue can always affect depth in that area of the pitch.

In Larsson, the Reds could have an ideal target to bring in when the next window arrives, with the Frankfurt man bringing youth and box-to-box energy to the team.

Fellow youngster Tyler Morton could potentially leave Liverpool permanently this summer, too, which would free up space in the squad, and despite being two years the Reds man’s junior, he arguably looks like a more experienced and accomplished footballer at a high level.
