Liverpool have reportedly submitted a £61m offer for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, in an exciting new transfer update.

The Reds continued their resurgence with a 2-1 win at home to Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday, even though it wasn’t the most convincing of performances.

While Liverpool have clearly improved after a disastrous spell earlier in the season, there is still a need to add depth to their squad, whether that be in the January transfer window or next summer.

Arne Slot’s midfield isn’t necessarily the most pressing area to add to, but it looks as though a top-quality option is being eyed up in 2026.

According to a report from Spain, Liverpool have bid £61m for Camavinga, seeing him as a strong choice in the middle of the park.

It is claimed that they are looking for a versatile player who can provide competition for Ryan Gravenberch in a deep-lying role, and the France international looks to be high up on the list.

That said, Madrid are thought to be hesitant to allow Camavinga to leave, no doubt seeing his long-term potential and not wanting to sell him to another of Europe’s big clubs.

Camavinga can be one of Europe’s best midfielders

The idea of Liverpool signing Camavinga is exciting, considering how much the Frenchman has already achieved in his career by the age of just 23.

He is a Champions League winner with Madrid, with former manager Carlo Ancelotti describing him as “spectacular” and Thierry Henry saying of him: “He’s everywhere—winning duels, covering ground, and creating chances. He’s a manager’s dream.”

Camavinga possesses so many qualities in midfield, from his technical ability with his left foot to his intelligence and work ethic, while his versatility even allows him to do a solid job at left-back.

There is so much more to come from him as the years pass, and he has the quality to become one of the best midfielders in Europe, if he isn’t already.

Added depth wouldn’t be a bad thing for Liverpool, especially with Alexis Mac Allister struggling for top form this season, so this is one to watch.
