Liverpool are reportedly very interested in Union SG attacker Mohamed Amoura and are in contact with the player’s representatives regarding a potential move to Anfield in the summer.
The summer transfer window will be extremely busy for Liverpool as they plan new signings, player sales and hope that contract extensions for Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are successful.
Arne Slot has unsurprisingly played his cards very close to his chest this season so there is very little information to go on in that regard but the Dutchman will have work to do in the summer.
While replacements for Liverpool’s out-of-contract trio will be hard to arrange, there are other transfer plans in place with Liverpool looking at the Bundesliga again for recruitment.
Liverpool in contact with Mohamed Amoura’s representatives
Represented by TTMA agency, who also represents Chelsea star Wesley Fofana, Mohamed Amoura has emerged as an exciting transfer target for Slot and Liverpool to pursue this summer.
In the Bundesliga, the 24-year-old has scored eight goals and assisted eight. Naturally, a centre-forward, his balance between goalscoring and creativity is fantastic and he would make for an interesting striker in Liverpool’s system.
According to Sport Bild, via Sport Witness, Liverpool are in contact with Amoura’s representatives over a potential move to Anfield in the summer.
Currently on loan with Vfl Wolfsburg from Union SG, the Bundesliga outfit is gearing up to make the move permanent for €14.5m, plus a potential further €2m in bonuses.
This gives Liverpool the opportunity to hijack the deal and make the bargain signing themselves. Arsenal have reportedly been following his movements as well but aside from mention of Liverpool contact, little else is known at this stage.
Amoura signing will depend on Liverpool exits
Liverpool will need to sell someone in the attacking department if they are to make space for Mohamed Amoura.
Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz have all been linked with leaving the club in the summer and if this came to pass, there would be space for Amoura but not until then.
The arrival of Federico Chiesa in the summer really solidified the strength in depth Arne Slot has in those positions.
