Liverpool are interested in Michael Olise but will battle to convince Bayern Munich to sell him but with Mohamed Salah out of contract in 2027 at the age of 35, Olise is one to watch.

Last season, Mo Salah scored 29 goals and assisted 18 in the Premier League on his way to a clean sweep of all the major domestic awards and potentially a first Ballon d’Or.

The Egyptian has a goal and assist in the first two games this season which suggests he isn’t breaking stride at all.

Yet, there must be an end to Salah’s prolific Anfield career at some point. If that fateful day truly will at the expiry of his current deal, Liverpool will need to plan will an advance to replace him.

The ‘Egyptian King’ is truly one of a kind and replacing him with anyone less than the best possible alternative – bearing in mind there is no like for like out there – would be disastrous.

Liverpool like Michael Olise but Bayern Munich will not accept any offers this summer

While Olise has never really been a serious target for Liverpool this summer, Salah only signed his contract extension at the end of the season so it’s reasonable to assumer a lot of homework has been done on him already.

His 20 goals and 23 assists last season are exactly the kind of numbers that Liverpool will be keen to find in a future replacement for Salah.

The Egyptian has spoiled Liverpool fans and while there is no hope of finding a player capable of joining the club for £34m to score and assist a total of 360 goals, Olise would be an interesting profile to replace Salah.

“It is true: Premier League clubs have Michael Olise on their radar,” Christian Falk said on CF Bayern Insider. “The Frenchman is currently in top form.

“PSG are interested in Olise, and as a Frenchman, he would fit perfectly into the Ligue 1 outfit’s philosophy. But in England, too, there is annoyance that the player was not kept in the Premier League. Only Newcastle made a serious effort, but lost the poker game against Bayern Munich.”

On Liverpool interest in Olise, it’s not they are keen but Bayern Munich are not willing to sell him.

“Now, bigger clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City are also interested in Michael Olise,” Falk adds.

“However, FC Bayern will not accept any offers. Good news for Bayern: the rumours about an exit clause in Olise’s contract are not true.”
