Liverpool youngster Jayden Danns is expected to once again be loaned out by the Reds next season, according to a new claim regarding his future.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting players at the Reds’ academy in recent years, shining with his quality leading the line.

Danns has also made the grade at first-team level at Liverpool, scoring three goals in nine appearances and not looking out of his depth.

The young striker was sent out on loan to Sunderland midway through this season, however, in order to pick up some invaluable experience. Sadly, back problems put paid to the move, though, and he didn’t play once for the Black Cats.

Now, according to The Daily Mail‘s reliable Lewis Steele, a “loan seems likely next season” for Danns, with Arne Slot potentially struggling to be able to guarantee him regular football.

Does another loan move make sense for Danns?

Sending Danns out on loan again in 2025/26 would be a shrewd decision by Liverpool, especially as he didn’t benefit at all from his temporary switch to Sunderland.

Rather than play for Liverpool’s Under-23s or pick up the odd first-team appearance in domestic cup competitions, starting regularly elsewhere for a year could be great for him, allowing him to mature as a footballer.

The teenager’s career is still in its infancy, but he is a player with so much promise, with former Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton lauding him after goal against Accrington Stanley earlier this season:

“Jayden Danns loves a goal and getting in those positions. That was brilliant from start to finish. He expected the rebound and he finished it well first time. You can see how much it means to him – a great moment for the young lad.”

While there is no guarantee that Danns’ long-term future belongs at Liverpool, the right time to properly assess him is next year after a season out on loan.

If the Reds ultimately don’t believe he is at the level required to be a genuine squad option, it would then be a case of cashing in on an excellent young player and helping him find the perfect club to be a star at.
