A “talented” Liverpool player has now “penned fresh terms” on a new contract at the club, according to a positive update from journalist Lewis Bower.

There is so much focus on new signings at Anfield this summer, but keeping hold of the most gifted young players around is also vitally important, as well as tying certain senior individuals down to extensions, such as Ibrahima Konate.

There is a plethora of talent on show at Liverpool’s academy currently, from Trey Nyoni to Rio Ngumoha, and now a key update has emerged regarding the future of another player.

According to youth talent Bower on X, Reds teenager Kareem Ahmed has “penned fresh terms” on a new at deal the AXA Training Centre:

“Kareem Ahmed has penned fresh terms with Liverpool. The 18-year-old midfielder of Egyptian heritage extends stay after a standout season with the under-eighteens amongst goals and assists. Now set for role with U21. Well thought of since breaking through as U16.”

Ahmed an exciting player for the future at Liverpool

Ahmed might not be a household name at Liverpool currently, considering he is only 18 years of age, but this is great news regarding the forward committing his future to the club.

The one-cap Egypt Under-17 international would no doubt love to follow in the footsteps of Mohamed Salah, becoming the next great Reds player from their homeland, and he has been lauded by journalist Bence Bocsak:

“Kareem Ahmed with a goal and a hat-trick of assists for LFC’s U18 side today. He averages 0.84 goal contributions per 90 this season. Has a 70% dribble success rate (3.9 dribbles per 90). A talented playmaker who likes to play as a no.10. One to keep an eye on.”

It’s now a case of Ahmed knuckling down and continuing to grow as a footballer at Liverpool, developing all the time and rising up through the youth teams, hopefully catching the eye for the Under-21s next season.

A tally of 12 goals and six assists in 42 appearances for the Reds’ Under-18s highlights his quality in the final third, and he should only improve further working alongside top-level coaches and fellow outstanding young talent at the AXA.
