Liverpool have reportedly learned Rodrygo’s wage demands as they explore a deal to take him from Real Madrid to boost their attacking squad depth.

This week, Alexander Isak dropped a bombshell statement on Instagram, accusing Newcastle United have breaking promises made in confidence and destroying his trust in the process.

The Magpies responded with their own statement and now it seems more difficult than ever to sign the former Real Sociedad star and Liverpool are wisely considering all their options.

A new report suggests they’ve been in contact with Rodrygo’s agents…

Liverpool meet with Rodrygo’s agents as Brazilian’s demands are revealed

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have met with the agents of Rodrygo and are now aware of the compensation he is asking for in order to leave Real Madrid.

Many agents of many forwards have been in contact with Liverpool, offering their clients to the Reds given their well-known need for a new attacker.

Football Insider reports: “Rodrygo, although not Liverpool’s preferred choice, has emerged as a realistic option after Zahavi held talks with the Premier League champions last Friday.

“Real Madrid’s number 11 still has three years left on his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, so he wouldn’t come cheap.”

Rodrygo’s contract with Los Blancos expires in June 2028 and will take an offer of around £80m to break.

Liverpool have now learned that they would have to pay Rodrygo in the region of £200,000 and £250,000 per week to move to Anfield.

The final line of the report reads: “Liverpool remain undecided on Rodrygo but are open to considering him as an alternative should a deal for Newcastle United’s number 14 fail to materialise.”

Rodrygo is the best player Liverpool can sign that isn’t Alexander Isak

If it comes to pass that Liverpool will not be able to sign Isak this summer as it seems with each passing day, moving for Rodrygo would be an excellent move.

He is potentially the best player on the market that isn’t Isak and he perfectly fits the Liverpool system. A front three of Rodrygo, Ekitike and Salah would be quite incredible.

Time will tell which forward Liverpool are blessed to sign.
