Liverpool are not going to sign Rodrygo regardless of the way the rest of the summer transfer window pans out even if Luis Diaz does leave.
More and more, it seems as though Diaz will get his transfer this summer which will come with the increase pay packet that he’s reportedly looking to receive.
Liverpool want around £72.5m to let him leave which would help finance the club’s hopeful plans of signing Alexander Isak but it does not seem as though Rodrygo is in Arne Slot’s plans as some reports have claimed.
This week, Spanish journalist Anton Meana claimed that once a deal for Diaz is complete, Liverpool would then enter the race to sign Rodrygo which would cost over £87m (€100m).
With links to Alexander Isak, a player that will cost Liverpool around £130m if successful, it’s no surprise that the Reds are not moving for the Brazilian.
Liverpool are not going to sign Rodrygo amid claims Alexander Isak wants to move to Anfield in mega £130m deal

According to Liverpool journalist David Lynch, who spoke to Anfield Index today, the Merseyside giants are not going to pursue a deal for Rodrygo even though widespread reports from Spain suggest he could be available amid uncertainty at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Lynch said: “I understand that Liverpool are not going to progress with a deal to sign Rodrygo.
“I’m not sure about the reasons but I’ve been told very firmly that this isn’t something that is going to happen.”
Today, Fabrizio Romano reiterated that Alexander Isak wants to join Liverpool – that it’s his “priority” to join the Reds, simultaneously dispelling rumours that Manchester United or Chelsea are in the race.
If Liverpool do sign the Swede, that will surely be the end of their attacking recruitment with the focus set to switch back to signing a centre-back to replace Jarell Quansah.
Rodrygo move would have been exciting but already have a few similar players in that position

If true, the reasons likely have to do with the enormous sum Liverpool are trying to pay Newcastle for Isak and the fact that even if Diaz leaves this month or next, Slot still has Florian Wirtz and Cody Gakpo to choose from on the left.
While not an established name by any means, 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha is making waves at Liverpool and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him make the bench at times this season.
Simply put, Rodrygo would have been a luxury signing but it will be interesting to see where he does land up this summer – if he leaves at all.
