With the end of the season approaching, confidence is sky-high at Anfield but there will be a fair amount of transition and squad turnover this summer.
Mohamed Salah continues to lead the way. The Egyptian forward has delivered 27 goals and 17 assists in the league alone this season, making him the most productive player across Europe’s top five leagues.
Now 32, Salah has built a legacy at Liverpool since his arrival from AS Roma back in 2017. The £34m deal has proven to be one of the best bits of business in club history and goes down a move that didn’t get huge attention at the time but has changed the club’s modern story.
With that in mind, Liverpool may return to Italy again in search of their next difference-maker.
If Salah leaves, Ederson could be an outside shout to replace him.
Ederson is on Liverpool’s radar for summer move
Reports from Tutto Atalanta suggest that Atalanta midfielder Ederson is drawing strong interest from Liverpool.
The Brazilian has been a key part of Atalanta’s system under Gian Piero Gasperini and has become known for his strength, stamina, and all-round quality in the heart of midfield.
While The Athletic notes that Liverpool aren’t desperate to add more midfielders this summer, a player like Ederson could be the kind of opportunity FSG won’t pass up.
Manchester United are also said to be monitoring Ederson closely, but their failed attempt to sign him last year – and their struggles this season – may give Liverpool an edge if the 25-year-old chooses to move.
Atalanta are expected to demand around €60 million (£51 million) for the Brazilian, and with Liverpool in a strong position both financially and competitively, a summer offer could be on the cards.
??? Éderson on Liverpool links: “I’m happy at Atalanta, my focus is on Brazil now”.
“I like Italy but I’m also curious about the Premier League”.
“The only possibility to leave is if Atalanta receive a proposal and then… they decide, it’s up to Atalanta”, told @diarioas. pic.twitter.com/DTuxvvK0o2

Liverpool’s midfield has been strong this season, but there are calls for a more physical, ball-winning presence. Ederson ticks those boxes.
He’s also tidy in possession, completing nearly 88% of his passes in Serie A and contributing regularly in build-up play and attacking phases.
The foundations are there for a Premier League move — physicality, work rate, quality on the ball — and under Slot, he could thrive.
Liverpool have shown before that buying smart from Serie A can pay off, and if Ederson does arrive this summer, the hope is he’ll become the next player to make that leap – helping this already excellent Liverpool side push on even further.
